Melisa doesn’t know this, but when we signed the contract last August for me to shoot her wedding, that was the first official step that I’d be walking away from baseball. I’d been thinking about it for a while, and had other offseason shoots booked, but Melisa and Dave’s wedding was the first that I booked smack dab in the middle of baseball season.

I couldn’t have made a better decision. And their wedding day? Wow. Mel was an absolutely gorgeous bride and Jess and I had a blast sharing the day with her and Dave.

We started at Mel’s mom’s house in West Hartford.

From there we headed to the chapel at Avon Old Farms where Mel’s mom teaches and where we did their engagement photos back in the fall. Mel was all smiles, all day.

Then it was off to the Simsbury Inn for a little partying.

Melisa and Dave were fortunate to find you. You captured their “one shining moment” [Melisa's term] perfectly. Our families were impressed with your preview of photos at the reception and made a point to tell us. You are a very talented photographer and professional. Syracuse should be proud! We admire your sense of originality and creativity. Moreover, we are happy that you decided to broaden your work focus to include weddings. If you want to avoid the conflicts between baseball and weddings, you might think about ice hockey!

    Our sincere thanks! The Malchoffs
